I've been poking at my wool for a while. I've got the point where it's sudsy all the way through. It's important to make sure that you have the suds all the way through. That acts as a wetting agent and it makes sure that your fibers are completely wet and they also won't stick to your hand. If you're patting and the fibers are sticking to your hand and pulling away, then you just have to poke a little more until you get the soap coming through the wool. It's kind of lose at this point, and baggy, and it will still come apart if I pull on an individual spot. So, at this point, I can start doing a little bit more with it in terms of sort of plopping and patting and dropping it. And that will encourage the felt to form. I can actually drop it on the surface. But, by dropping it and plopping it, you can keep from getting creased folded areas which will, you'll get the creases and folds if your squeeze it. So, we're going to keep plopping until the wool shrinks down and it fits the soap. So, keep doing this until it's shrunk down and it's not loose anymore. It should fit the soap and be just the right size.
