Felt-Covered Soap: Materials

Hi. Today I'm going to show you how to do a felting project that's really fun for quick gifts for people. We're going to make felt covered soaps. So, all the materials I'm going to need right now are my soap. I'm using a nice handmade soap. I've got some wool. This is Marina wool, but for this part like, you can pretty much use any kind of wool as long as it's not too coarse. It'll be something that you want to be running against your hands. I also have some pre-felts which are also Marina wool that I've bought off the Internet. You can also make pre-felts but, I've bought them because it makes it easier. This is something that we're going to use to decorate the outside of our soap later. I've got a tray to work in. I'll use the bumpy surface. I also like it because it catches water. This is boot tray from the hardware store, so, they're not too hard to find. I'm going to use hot water and my hands to do this project. So, you don't need a whole lot of equipment for this. It's very quick and very easy.
