Getting a Young Horse From the Paddock

To begin with we're going to catch our horse. I've chosen to use a lunge line with a chain. I always like to have the chain on the young horses in case they decide to misbehave. It just gives you a little added sharpness to keep them under control. The lunge line also gives us a little bit of freedom in order to let it long if they get spooked and it also prevents them from getting away from us. Important to lock the gate behind you. I'm going to put the chain through the first ring on the left over the horses nose, it's going to wrap around the nose band once, go through the second side of the ring and clip to the bottom ring of the halter. I'll just begin by leading him on the left side.
