How to Improve Chipping Technique in Golf
Now on the chipping. There is actually not too much of a difference between chipping and putting. Show you right here basically a typical putting stroke. I want to keep my feet fairly square to the target maintaining my shoulders at a parallel line to my target. I am going to use very little, hopefully no wrist in this putting stroke maintaining acceleration; pretty simple. Now going on to chipping, it is very very similar. The only difference I am going to do here is I am actually just going open my foot, kind of flair my foot toward the target a little more. That is going to help me keep my weight on my front foot and use less body movement below my waist. For this shot of course, it is still a small shot so you don't want all these moving parts. I am going to use very little wrist but I am going to just use a little bit. As you can see from here, it actually looks very similar to the putting stroke I just did. Slight change; what I like to have here is instead of keeping the ball in the center of your stance like you went for a full shot but this one I like it more on the back foot. Keeping your hands in front slightly over or across the ball toward your front foot, maintaining that5 acceleration the whole time. As you can see, I just swung from my shoulders here; not my arms not my wrist and that is how you get a consistent shot.
