Introduction to Faux Painting
We’re here to talk about faux painting, and I want to show you a different kind of technique. I like to call this one “Old World,” but really it’s a basic of any type of faux painting. You can start off with this one to get any kind of look you want. If you want to keep it simple, or if you want to go extravagant, there’s different things that you can pull into it and I’ll show you that in a little bit. But first off I want to show you a little bit about this wall. This is kind of what we’re going to go for today. And starting with this kind of faux painting, you want to have your walls already painted with a base coat. And the base coat primarily will flow throughout your whole house. It will be the same kind of paint that you would use throughout your whole home. Don’t worry about it if it’s too light, it will faux just right. This is the direction that we’re going to be going in, and I will show you the materials that we’re going to be using and the different techniques that we’re going to go through the entire thing.
