Backswing Length for Golf Chipping Exercises
Now, you can do the same thing that we've just did with putting basically. The drill here is very similar, this time since I have a small spot to work with I'll just take three balls. Purpose of this one again is to gain feel and as longest you maintain acceleration is all you have to change the length of your back swing. Now from here, of course the easiest thing to do for me to get all three of these balls between the front of the green and that pin is to start the first one on 2 or 3 inches on, but that's pretty hard. So I'm going to try and get this one about 2 or 3 feet on the green. Of course it goes twice or 3 times as far as I thought I would, but that's okay. I leave myself plenty of room, got a good practice swing there from that, got good feedback so all I'm going to do is change the length of my back swing. For my third final, same thing. Notice once again they're still pretty evenly spaced out apart, but the idea here is eventually I'm going to get to the last ball and I'm going to be able to pick up that pin pretty easily.
