Demos for Cartoon Voice Over

If you're going to be a voice of a demo, my recommendation is that you take classes first, with some voice over professionals, before you waste your money, and make a demo, because what you think might be a good demo, might not actually be a good demo to get you an agent, and you're going to need one to get an agent, and then you're going to need another one to go out and get work, so, and you have to keep it fresh, so you might do a demo every three or four years, or you might change your demo, by putting work that you've done on, so in other words, I'll change my demo by putting characters that I've done. I'll add it to an existing demo, and maybe drop a character that wasn't quite as strong. Obviously, if you do a title character like I've done in Naruto or Jakers, you want those on there, so that people go, "oh, I know that show." If you're going to do a demo, the first thing I would recommend, is to make a list of all the characters that you do, and then sort of work on finessing them on your own. Take a class. Get a vocal coach, and then work on honing those characters, so they are the very best they can be, and then pick the best seven or eight of those characters, and do a short demo.
