What is the Snub Line on a Dogsled?

Hi! I’m Lachland Clarke on behalf of Expert Village. I would like to invite you to visit our website at www.teamclarke.com. And this is called a snub line where you have to tie off to something. You might have a chance of grabbing it if you loose and fall off of your sled and you’re about to lose it, you have one last chance to try to get your sled again. You have to keep in mind that these dogs don’t stop really. Paul Gebhart lost a sled. Dogs came into Nikolai on their own or he got them before Nikolai but he had lost them. Doug Swingley game him a ride in his sled to a buffalo camp. Some buffalo hunters camped out and they had snow machines and took them on a snow machine and caught up to his team. His sled broke loose; he hit a stump. Also, did his team separate from the sled? Yeah, pretty scary. I’ve lost my team twice just in training and it is pretty scary deal. So what do you do at that point? You start walking. Well, I walk back to the house the last time and the dogs went all the way over to Arlie, Montana and we had to drive a 100 miles around to get them.
