Paper Bag Gift Wrapping

Now, I'd like to show you something really fun to do with a paper lunch sack. I'm going to wrap a bottle of wine today, but you could wrap anything in this. You could put a t-shirt, or a mugful of candy, or anything that will fit in a lunch bag, you can use for this wrapping technique. You could wrap a sandwich like this, wouldn't that be a fancy lunch? To do this, you're going to need of course, a brown paper sack. You'll need some colored tape, too. I'm using blue painter's masking tape. Then you'll need, of course, a pair of scissors. In fact, I'm going to use pinking shears, for something really fancy. Hole punch, and some string, twine, yarn, ribbon, whatever you want, to gather at the neck. And then, if you're going to do these cute little embellishments, you'll need a piece of cardstock, colored card paper, like scrapbooking paper, or construction paper, something like that. And if you have a circle punch, like a scrapbooking circle punch, or a pair of scissors just to cut out a rustic shape, if you like, it could be a little heart, whatever you want to cut out. You can trace a pattern and cut, anything you want, doesn't have to be a perfect circle. And, some red tissue paper. So, we can use our imaginations; doesn't have to be perfect. To start, we're going to do our stripes. This is so easy and fun. I'm not worrying about the fact that the tape goes off the edge. You can put your stripes as far apart, or as close together, as you want. I'm not even cutting the tape, I'm just tearing it. It does not have to be fancy. Lift it off my surface. Then using my scissors, I'm just going to snip off, the excess tape. It looks nice and crisp. Almost nautical. This is going to be kind of a, nautical looking gift. Let's repeat on the other side. You see that this bottom is in my way, so I'm going to flip it over like that. I'm going to find where that first stripe is on the other side, and match it up. It doesn't have to be precise. Very quick. I'm loving the way this looks already. And then, whoops, you don't need all that. And then, snip, snip, and snip. Terrific. Next, we'll do the finishing touches, and add some tissue paper, too.
