How to Evaluate Classic Car Wheels When Appraising Classic Cars
Then the wheels, I’ve mentioned that I do lots of circles around the car, well we’re going to go around again we’re going to look at the wheels and what do I look for in the wheels? I want to see if there is any impact damage around the edge of the wheel rim, any rust in this area, just what’s the overall condition of the wheel? You have to use steel wheels, you have Mack wheels, wire wheels some endless selection of wheels and you just take a close look at those and see what kind of condition they’re in and then the wheels are followed by taking a close look at the tires. I just walk around and kind of put my finger in to get a good idea of how much thread is left to take a look at them to decide whether or not these tires are at nearly new condition or the third of thread remaining whatever that reflects on the value of the car and if you need new tires it brings the value on the car down just a little bit. Hubcaps, beauty rims, whatever are there take a close look at those, something like this these are easy to replaced they don’t cost a whole lot of money in this particular car but if you’re looking at a 41 Lincoln and you have small center caps and that needs to be replaced, they’re not cheap they’re going to have a real reflection on the value of the car if they’re in bad shape, that’s not a good thing so you want to keep that in mind.
