Real Estate Board Dues

Okay, board dues. Not to scare you but every local little city to be a member of their board of realtors gives you guys the opportunities, once you've paid those dues, and usually like mine every three months, four months I think it's about $350.00. That can add up but guess what? That gives me access to the multiple listing service. It gives me access to taking this little key and going into your house and showing your property for clients. They trust me enough with the license that I've got and with the ability to maintain my license, to come into your home with a little key. But okay so that's the only fee as a team member. I'm going to pay my dues. I'm going to pay the gas for my car and I'm probably going to pay my health insurance. That kind of thing. But as an independent agent you're paying it all. So do you want to start your own business or do you kind of want to pick the brains of somebody whose already started their business. What worked best for me was picking the brain of somebody who had already started their business. And the way I did that was I sought out a very successful team of realtors years ago and just knocked on their door.
