Practice Swings on the Driving Range
Hi! I’m David Anderson for Expert Village. We are here to talk about golf and some golf tips. The first thing you need to do once you’ve checked into the Pro Shop at your golf course such as this, the Golf Club at Star Ranch outside of Austin, Texas, if you have time before your round starts, you need to make your way over to the driving range to warm up. Hit some practice golf balls before you make it onto the course where you keep your score. The first thing you need to do is take the top 3 irons in your bag. In my case, I have a 1, 2 and a 3 iron. You lump them together and just like a batter in a batter’s box you start stretching the muscles on both sides like this; go around about, switch again. It’s a stretching exercise but it warms you up, gets the muscles warm and relaxed. Again, you have all 3 clubs lumped together and then you start your practice swings with all 3 clubs. You don’t have to do it fast, just a nice warm up. It is slow, just like a batter in a batter’s box or on the on deck circle. Before he gets up to face the pitches he will take a few swings and again, you can do the round about with both arms, both hands. It’s just mainly a warm up exercise.
