Golf Warm Up Tips
Hi! I’m David Anderson and on behalf of Expert Village, we are here to talk about golf; how to improve your game of golf. The first thing you do when you arrive at a golf course like this Golf Club at Star Ranch outside of Austin, Texas, once you check in at the Pro Shop and pay your green fees, you are ready to warm up. The best thing to do is start a regimen of exercises to stretch your muscles. The first thing I want to show you is the exercise of propping your foot up, your right foot up, taking your left arm and stretching it like this. You are getting stretching underneath here this leg and also, you are getting stretching out here. Then you try the other way. Go to the other side, stretch the right arm and shoulder with the left leg up. Another stretching exercise is to widen your stance and bend over and then stretch like that with the right leg straight, then the left leg straight. I’ll show you some things to do with a golf club with a golf club in your hand. You’ve seen batters, baseball batters, on deck before they make it to the plate, they will take the bat and they will stretch it behind their shoulders. That does stretch all of the muscles in the chest and the back, hold the club up, you can bend like this, like that and another good exercise is to grab the club with your hands reversed and then stretch all the way down as far as you can. Once again, that opens up the muscles in the shoulders, both shoulders so you are warming up as you go before you play the game.
