History of Hindustani Vocal Music

Vocal music is probably the oldest form. It has been around as long as history and before. Vocalist sang and still sing in Temples, they sing in court and now people sing in recording studio and the concert hall. So singing also takes place anywhere. Singing is part of life rituals, worship, play, recordings. Vocal music and drumming is the most important and immediate part of everyday life. I think not only in Indian culture but cultures around the world.
