Serger Sewing: The Controls on a Serger Sewing Machine

On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Neal Jones and I’m with A Perfect Fit Alterations and we’re on 102 Main Street in historic old town Burleson our phone number is 817-447-3522. Continuing in this clip on our serger excursion we’re working down the front of the machine as we have covered the threading we come down here to two controls which are marked at DF which stands for differential feed and that’s to do with the fabric feeding through the machine and controls the feed dogs which we’ll cover in a little bit later segment and we have the SL control which is the stitch length. Now both of these are marked so that as we work through the machine you’ll be able to see how all of that relates together. Now as we move on down the front of the machine we’re able to see here we have a card on the front of the machine, there are a group of cards here, now these cards are very important to be able to setup this machine is a little complex than a regular sewing machine and it does require a little more patience to set it up for the particular job that you’re doing.
