Hi my name is Nat McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to break you lug nuts loose and jack the vehicle up. Now you want break loose the lugs nuts before you jack the vehicle up in the air. If you were to take the static weight of the vehicle off the tire and try to break them loose you are just going to spin the wheel. So before you get carry away it is a good idea to just break them loose. There is no particular pattern you have to follow in taking the tire off. I just right around in a circle. Once you have the lug nuts broken loose it is okay to go ahead and set you jack and get the tire off the ground. The spot that you are aiming for is the pinch well on this particular vehicle. However, refer to your owners manual for the proper jacking point. Once you have the vehicle jacked up high enough in the air you can go ahead and set your jack stand. You always want to use a jack stand or some other kind of solid one piece device with no wheels on it a brick would even work. You don't want to do any kind of work on or underneath the vehicle on a wheel device such as this floor jack.
