Hey! This is Josh C from The Mother Truckers and we are going through some basic pedal steel licks on the electric guitar. Let's take the key of D. This is the way to get from the 5 chord to the 4 chord and back to the 1. This is some of the most classic country licks of all time; everybody uses them. We'll start with A, go down to the G and the D. You can outline those chords easily by going...So what I've done is I've taken the A chord, A measure and I've just taken the 3 and the 5 and I've bent up to the 3 and hit the 5. This is a bent A chord and do the same thing on the G. I just take the top 2 notes of the chord, these two, bend up to those and that lands on a D major because it is the last 2 notes of the D major chord. So if you are in a D shuffle and the thing is turning around, you can go.
