Hi this is Leslie Sack with expertvillage.com. My website is lesliesack.com and the dance is merengue. We are going to talk about now our turns for the guys and the girls. So if I'm the leader and I want my partner to turn, I have to do what I usually call turning signals, like driving a car. And you want to turn the car, you got to turn on the turning signal first. You want to turn on the turning signal before you even turn. So the followers need to know which way you want to turn. So she has two options: can you guess, you could turn right or you could turn left. And also guys could turn right or left. The main idea that the guy raises his arm anywhere other then over his own head, but the lady's going to turn: girls, we're the spinners, we're the fabulous turners, so get ready ladies. And for the guys, any time if you are going to turn, the signal is you have to put your hand right over your own head, otherwise she is assuming she is going to turn. So if you are leading, if you are going to turn her, if you are in a close position, if you arm goes up this way, that is a turning signal—it is kind of like those guys that hold the stop signs. Make sure we can see your stop sign; so it is this way. If you wanted to turn her to the right, or this way to turn her left. So if you bring it up to the middle, she gets to choose which ever way she wants to go.
