If you are looking for something for a neat nice gift to have that will also use some of your scrap wood around the shops there is nothing better than creating a nice set of light pulls or key chains for your family or friends. These are a great way of using up shop scraps and in the case of a whistle it makes a nice self defense item for the ladies. In the process of going through this we'll show you how to create these using some special mandrels and I'll also show you a way of doing the light pole that doesn't require special bushings or fittings. The fittings for these are done through a two wax system that you can order from a number of places on the Internet along with the kids that is resistant to the body oils. It provides a high gloss finish that you can do on the lathe.
