Hello! My name is Matthew Willis and I am with Texas Parkour. You can reach us at www.texasparkour.com. Today I am going to be showing you a bunch of different techniques and warm-ups and drills along with this new sport art discipline called parkour or free running. Today I am going to be showing you just a little bit about the warm-up called the monkey walk. You can incorporate stretches or different kinosetic type activities to just get you warmed up and ready for the day. This is again the monkey walk. It's been kind of coined by a man named Forest. He is on a team at the UK right now and it's the urban free flow and you can reach them at their website. So it is just a little bit of just a quadrupedal motion. What you are going to do is just get down on all fours and you are going to feel the ground. It can be cement, grass whatever you want to get warmed up for the day. You are going to feel the ground. You are just going to start moving. You can incorporate stretches and strength. You know, just stretch my hamstring here or you can stretch your soleus and incorporate strength by different types of yoga positions just going up. You always want to practice your rolls off of both shoulders and that's the monkey walk.
and how do you jump from wall-to-wall ?
