Different Equine Massage Strokes

So we're going to be talking about different strokes, and the ones that we've been using earlier, and the reason for that is, that the different strokes will work on and better address different areas of the horse's body than others. If you are trying to loosen up or work your horse's neck, you're going to want to be using a different stroke than the chopping stroke that we had talked about, for instance. If you're wanting to treat your horse's abdomen, which is a very, very sensitive area, you don't want to be using a lot of pressure, you want to have a very gentle stroke that you're using there. So we'll talk about one that is specifically for that area. If you are working in an area that tends to be sensitive or tight on the horse, you're going to need to be paying special attention to that, using a different type of stroke than you might otherwise. Something that is going to loosen up the horse's tight muscles and be most effective that way, without risk of injuring the horse, but at the same time, not under doing what you're trying to do.
