Aikido Striking Tips: Reverse Kick

Reverse kick is sometimes known as a flashy kick or a fancy kick, but there are times when it's very effective. And people that know how to do this well, they'll really clean your clock with it. So it's really important to learn how to defend against it. But in order to defend against it, you have to learn how to do the kick. The way I do a reverse kick, is I will look and target my opponent right like this. I'll do it from this side so you can see me turn. I actually turn and spot him and then bring my foot up like a side kick. Here, just like this, I immediately step back and cover. I'm not going to stay here and admire my handiwork. That was neat! Okay. No. I'm going to cover. One more time. The way to use this properly is to set it up with like a jab or a faint to the head. As they go to block this, then you can set your kick up. So from here, I just throw the hand so he blocks it, just like that. One more time.
