Now once you have finished massing around the elbow you are going to work your way up the shoulder. The shoulder has most of the musculature for supporting the front legs and it is likely to be the area that is going to stiffen up even though the problem is actually in the elbow so you are going to want to spend a fair amount of time on the shoulder area, nice big circular massage motion, go across the front as well you don't have to do anything fancy just really push on those muscles, nice circular motion, all the way up to the top of the shoulder, across the front, and spend a couple minutes doing this, really work with the shoulders. Do both legs again because if the animal is favoring this leg he is going to put a lot of weight on the other leg and that leg is going to get stiff and sore and that shoulder is going to need this type of massage to help it be as functional as it can so a good heavy massage of both shoulders and that will help bring the balance. What you will start to see in most cases is the dog will actually, his shoulders will be more even when he is standing still.
