Benefits of Horse Shedding Blades

So the first grooming tool that I want to talk about is the Shedding blade. This is a nice dual purpose sort of a Shedding blade. You can undo the little clip on it and it folds out so that it can also be used as a Sweat scraper. It's got some nice serrated teeth on it to really help you get the horse's loose fur off, out. You do want to be careful using this because of the serrated teeth. I don't recommend using it on the horse's leg except for maybe the very muscular parts of their legs, up here and in back, the gaskin area and you should not use one of these around your horse's face at all. If they turn their head quickly and they get poked in the eye with it, that's not going to be a good thing and lots of horse's faces are just too sensitive to use this but it's really nice for getting the loose fur off in the spring and then if you have given your horse a bath, you flip it over or take it apart, it's a nice way to get the water and the soap off of them, get the sweat off at the end of a hard work out and it's going to help increase the circulation and bring blood flow to the surface.
