Parkour Training : Monkey Vault
Hi! This is Matthew Willis with Texas Parkour. This is another urban movement that I am going to try to explain to you or demonstrate. There are actually two; it's called the King Kong Vault or the Kong Vault and the Monkey Vault. First of all you will need to know the monkey vault in order to do the kong vault. Now the monkey vault is going to be taking off with usually two feet right before the object. You are actually going to put your hands on your obstacle before you vault it and this is really important. A lot of people can get scared about this vault but the best thing to do is practice, practice and practice. Now what you are going to do is put both hands on your object before you take off. You are going to punch and this is really important this is a vaulting skill. You are going to be pushing down with your shoulders as much as possible. You are going to actually lean forward just a little bit with your head and break the shoulder angle. After this you are going to take your feet through and over your hands, over the obstacle and through your hands and you are going to be landing on the other side h9opefully in a step out so that you can continue your flow
