Here we have yet another variation of the basic pencil skirt. This time it's with side slits or a slit. You can have one slit on just one of the sides, or you can have a slit on either side, making it symmetrical. When you look at this, notice that you're going to think: "hey, you just showed us that; it's a front slit." No. Look at the positioning of her body. This is a side view croqui. I'm going to show you how to do the side slits though, on the front view croqui, right here. When you do that, do your natural waistband, or wherever you want the natural waistband to be. Figure out how long you want it to be. Mark it for your hemline. Now, in order to show that it has side slits on this two dimensional, flat paper, we're going to have to draw it coming in down at the hemline on either side. And then go back and draw what you would be seeing if it were three dimensional from the back. And that's the back part of the skirt that you're actually seeing through the front. It's just coming around the sides, and thus you have your side slits.
