Replacing a Tailgate: Remove Tension Springs

Before I remove the hinge bolts, what I am going to do is remove the spring tensioner on the lift gate. To avoid injury, I'm going to grab the tension end of the spring with a set of Vice Grips, so I can hold on to it. That's the proper way to remove a tension bar.
