Juggling: Bostons Mess Three Balls Trick

In this video we're going to talk about a trick called "The Bostons Mess". This is one of my personal favorites. A lot of people also call it "The 3 Handed Juggler", there are a lot of names for it. What it looks like is this. Now this is a medium to hard trick to learn. As far as 3 ball tricks go, it takes quite a bit of practice. What you're going to do first is you need to think about making each throw go completely vertical, because all we're doing is we're taking a 3 ball pattern and then, instead of throwing the ball side to side and leaving our hands where they are, we throw the ball straight up and down and make our hands move to where the balls will go. To learn this pattern what we're going to do is we're going to go into a Mills Mess like this. We should have already learned how to do a Mills Mess in previous videos. So from the Mills Mess, once you get this hand crossing pattern down, you're going to try and throw 3 throws straight up and down. So in the Mills Mess, instead of crossing, straight up and down. And your hands should just follow to where the balls have to be. Really think about each throw and making it straight up and down. And then try and catch each ball and your hands will go where they have to be. There's really only one way to make this work. If each ball goes straight up and down, you have to juggle the Bostons Mess, that's what it is by definition. So all you really have to think about is throwing straight up, not letting any of the balls cross. And that's Bostons Mess!
