Harley Davidson: Remove the Battery

Okay, next we'll go ahead and take off the ground, or the negative. Nice thing about the bike not being very old, nothing is rusted up, although the battery shouldn't have been bad yet either, but it got that way. I'm not sure. So anyways, then we've got to come up around the front here. We want to take the handlebars, and put it over to the right, so we can get down in here and take this plate off. Put a little muscle to it. And we take this off, and then there's a big rubber strap that holds the battery in, and we can remove that from here. Okay, so there's that. Now you take your screwdriver, and I don't know if you can show this very well or not, but right here, right up here you might be able to show it, from this angle right here. You can see that there's a little clip here. You can actually get it off from here, but putting it back on you'd have had to take the plate off. So, from here you can get it off. It's a lot easier going back on the other way. So, that's what holds it in place. So, we get that loose, and then we can wiggle the battery out. Well that's half the battle. That is removing the battery of a 2006 street ride.
