One of the more interesting things about Chinese diagnostic theory is the way that we look at the different organs. For someone who's actually went and visited an acupuncturist, or a Chinese medicine practitioner, often times they'll hear about their liver being stagnated or their spleen being weak. And they're worried about maybe they should go see their doctor because that organ's got a problem. But in reality, when we talk about these organs in Chinese medicine, we're not talking about your real organ. Often times, we're talking about this energetic organ. So when we're talking about dietary therapy, the spleen is our most important organ. We actually look at the energetics as being combined with the stomach and that it's responsible for our entire digestive system, our energy, our immune system and actually the way we feel day to day, for all of those energetic functions of all of our body. Everything from our sweating function to our muscle development and our metabolism. Often times when people come to me looking to lose weight, I talk to them about their spleen and how we can spark that spleen energy to make it stronger and to help nourish their entire body to the foods that they eat.
