Tools for Installing a Trailer Hitch

In this clip I want to familiarize you with the parts, the trailer hitch, and the vehicle that you're going to be mounting it on. When you open, when you get your trailer hitch and you open the box, you're going to have parts in there. You're going to have bolts, could have brackets like this to go along with it and of course you're probably going to have a instruction manual. Those are all very important things. There should be an inventory list on your instruction manual. It tells you exactly how many bolts and how many parts that go along with it. It won't be a ton of moving parts to this piece, it's pretty simple. Make sure you have all your parts, like it said. This is what your trailer hitch could look like. This trailer hitch here is going to be mounted on a van. Ford Van, 2004 Ford Van. It's rated at 10,000 pounds, carrying capacity, so that's a lot of weight. You can carry a very, very large boat behind this van once you mount this on there properly. There are several tools that you are going to need when installing a trailer hitch. You can use a socket and wrench, a socket wrench, air tools, or just a manual wrench. Now if you're fortunate enough to have air tools, then that would be the preferred thing to do, when you're putting on a trailer hitch.
