How to Disconnect a Car Battery

In this clip, were going to talk about the proper way to diagnose, remove, and replace a faulty windshield wiper motor. In this step, were going to talk about the proper service procedure to disconnect the vehicles battery and deaden the electrical systems on the car. Before you perform any work on any electrical components on the vehicle you’re going to want to unhook the battery. What that does is give you spark suppression. It is possible to get a dead short and set some stuff on fire or damage some sensitive computer components. Once you unhook the negative side of your battery terminal, you will lose your radio and clock memory. It's not really necessary to right down the time, however your radio preferences in your memory, you may want to write down. I'm going to take my thirteen millimeter and flip it on there and loosen up the nut. Just like so, I'm going to take it and wiggle it off. At this point in time, if your battery terminal connections are extremely corroded since you have it apart, it would be a good idea to go ahead and maintenance that connection. That is the proper way to remove your battery terminal.
