Checking Gasket to Change Fuel Pump

Hi my name is Jeff Fiffie. I'm showing you how to move and replace a fuel pump on a Lincoln Continental. The first thing you want to check is your oil ring, checking it very closely to make sure there's no dry rotted. There's more cases when you receive your new pump, you have a brand new one of these in there and then you could replace it back in the little groove where it goes. It's not going to stay in there in most cases but just sit it in there so it doesn't fall in the tank itself. Ok grab your, your new pump. This is what's called the floater, this is what tells you whether you have a full tank or an empty tank. You want to make sure you don't damage that or any of the wires in here. You don't want to damage any of those. It wouldn't be a bad idea just to make sure your connectors are firmly affixed to the pump. Ok firmly affixed ok. Now face the floater down in there like so and the screen you want to guide down in there real..you don't want to rip any of that. Turn it around in place. Checking our gasket also make sure it's still in place.
