Checking for Head Gasket Leaks
Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about one of the steps involved in changing your valve cover gasket. We have our engine reassembled; and what you are going to want to do before you take off and drive your engine after service is fire it up in the shop and make sure that everything is in proper working order, and that you don't see any leaks. Now you are going to want to inspect around the entire surface of the area that you worked on: down inside the plug galleys (of course not when the engine is running) and all around your gasket main surfaces. It is possible that something has gone wrong during your service, and you are going to want to catch that while you still have it in the shop instead of heading down the road and having a failure on the highway. Just for the sake of our audio, you don't have the engine running at this point and time, but what you are going to want to do is fire the motor up and just take a look around.
