How to Reinstall Blown Head Gasket Parts
Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about the proper way to reinstall the components you removed to gain access to your valve cover. The technique that I like to use whenever I'm reassembling miscellaneous components is to start at one side of the engine compartment and move across it and the front. It is not a good idea to hop scotch around; if you do, you may miss something. What I'm going to do is start right here with my power steering pressure line. I'm going to take it and start my bolts in it. You want to make sure to start both bolts before you tighten them down, and that will aid you to lining the holes up. Get my speed wrench here. These are not a hardened bolt and we are screwing into aluminum. It is becoming a more and more popular metal for engine components, so you want to be gentle. The next component we are going to reinstall is our PCV valve. It is going to seat right here on this grommet; and give it a squeeze, you may or may not have to remove you your PCV valve to do your valve cover gasket service. Put this vacuum light on right here. Alright that is all the way around. And we will do our spark plugs. Here is number one, number two, number three, and number four. You are going to want to listen for a little popping sound when you reinstall those plugs. We will take them and pop them all in there corresponding clips here. Alright those are some techniques you are going to want to use when reassembling you engine components.
