How to Find a Head Gasket Cover
Hi my name is Nate McCullough on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to talk about what a valve cover is and where they are located. The valve cover is this component right here. It is a cap pretty much for the top of the engine. There are a bunch of moving parts on the cylinder head that occasionally will need service. The valve cover is this metal portion here, and it has a gasket between it and the cylinder head which seals in your oil. Over time that gasket will degrade and need service. The valve covers most generally are located right on top of the engine. This being a in-line four cylinder, it is right here. If it was a V8 or a V style engine, there would be two valve covers, one on either side for either bank, which will pretty much straddle the intake manifold.
