Using the Lei in Hula Dancing for Beginners
On behalf of expertvillage.com Aloha, my name is Tama and this is Nani Maka, we are from Tama Leao's Polynesian Productions located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. What we’re going to do is we’re going to teach you the basic of the hula dance. You know the Lei is very important because Lei means love and like Nani Maka has that’s a beautiful flower Lei, this is called a Carnation Lei, one of the main Lei that we have back in the islands and she also has the Maile Lei around her neck. Maile Lei you only wear them when there are very special occasions when you get engaged or getting married or even just fall in love with your love one and they’re beautiful and also many years ago only the king and queen of the islands were able to wear them.
