Adding Vegetable Stock to Rice

Alright. Our vegetable stock is just coming to a boil. And this was a fairly large cube, so I'm going to smash it along the bottom to break it up, to help speed it along. Then we're going to take red onions, and we'll add them to our pan. While we're waiting for them to get soft, we'll come to our white rice. And we're going to go and measure out half a cup. Alright. We'll sprinkle this over the top. And it's okay if your onions aren't completely soft because they're going to be boiled in water. So, they'll be very soft by the time that the rice is done. Alright. Our vegetable stock has just about come to a boil, so we'll turn off the heat. We'll flip our rice around once, so that it's incorporated all the oil and the butter. Then we'll add a cup of our stock. And give it one stir just to make sure that our vegetable bouillon cube is broken up. Then, as it comes to a boil, we're going to reduce the heat. We have it at eight. We're going to reduce it down to about four. Then we're going to cover it, and we're going to let that reduce for about fifteen minutes, or until all of the liquid has evaporated.
