Measuring: Tips on Choosing Bras

Hi! My name is Christine and I am speaking to you from Simply Lovely Lingerie in Stratford, Ontario. On behalf of expertvillage.com, we would like to talk to you about bras and bra fitting. In this clip we just wanted to take a moment to talk to you about measuring for a bra, even though it is very difficult to get an accurate measure these days with all the bra companies making their bras in different countries. You will find between the fits and where the bra is made, it is going to change a little bit in the determined size. However you can get an idea by taking two measurements: take one right under the breast throughout the rib cage. When you get the number for that, just add 5 inches to that number. And then take another measurement across the fullest part of the breast. And when you get those two numbers, you subtract them from each other, and whatever that number would be, that will be your cup size. So if there was 1 inch difference that would be a A cup. If it was 2 inches it would be a B and so forth. You just keep on adding and subtracting until you get the right cup size. Again, as I did say though, depending on where the bra is made, you may fluctuate a little bit of difference in size whether it be cup or bandwidth.
