Office Chair Yoga: Deltoid Stretch

O.k. moving down from the neck and through the traps. We're going to stretch the deltoids you have three, the front, medial and the rear deltoid. So taking the left arm across, gently across the body just using the hand just above the elbow. Slowly bringing it closer to your shoulder getting a deep stretch through the shoulder. Taking deep breaths in and exhale reaching the fingertips the opposite while, I'm pulling the arm a little closer to you. Now as you do this you can move just an inch or so a little bit higher or a little bit lower to maximize the stretch and after you've held it about 30 seconds, slowly release it down and we'll do the same thing on the other arm. So taking the right arm up holding either at the wrist or just by the elbow and bringing that arm closer to the shoulder. I can inhale reaching the fingertips the opposite while I'm bringing the arm a little closer and then again you can take the arm a little higher or a little bit lower just really stretching the shoulder and then with your next breath just bringing it back down to relax and roll the shoulders back a few times. Full range motion all the way up to the ears, all the way back and reversing the direction bringing them forward. Again one more time and you just want to hold them at the ears bringing them up as tight as you can making your hands into fists and exhale just releasing the tension out. O.k., one more time, bringing it up as tight as you can holding breath and then exhale, drop and release and relax and feel the tension just melt away.
