Tuning Guitar Using Harmonics

Another way you can tune a guitar is using harmonics. Now, harmonic is, essentially, just lightly touching your finger just barely enough so that it makes contact, but not pressing the string down, directly over, usually, one of these metal frets. Now, the way that you will tune is to play the harmonic which is on the fifth fret and then the seventh fret on the next string. Now, what you're going to listen to for is called oscillation. It's the (demo sound) kind of sound that occurs if the string is not quite in tune. Let's take a listen to these two strings. Again, the fifth fret to the next string on the seventh fret. You can hear a (demo sound), that's the oscillation. You want to tune up until that slows down and disappears, let's take a listen. (Tuning demo) Notice that you no longer hear the warbling in there, the (sound demo). It's gone and you have a very even sound.
