Yoga Relaxation Pose

One of the greatest Restorative Posture is the basic relaxation pose. It emulates Savasana or Corpse Pose from the end of your Asana practice, but it's a little more supported and a little more, I would say a little more relaxing. If your past three months pregnant though please go to the next clip which is Side lighting Pose and that would be better for someone who is pregnant. But on to this pose, what you want to do is take your blanket, and as I showed you in the first clip, you want to roll it up so you can put it up underneath your knees. So place that at the end of your mat. And if you haven't got the time already, now would be a good time to grab the timer or something that'll alarm that you can set for five to ten minutes or how ever long you'd like to lay here. Cause you may fall asleep. So then, if you have a small pillow, I usually like to use this, if you don't, what you can do is take and fold the blanket or a towel, you may need two towels. So fold the towel, you put it underneath you and support there and then you can grab like a hand towel, I've a lot of towels here just to give you examples and so you don't feel like you can't do this posture. So once you find where that is, take your feet and bring yourself down. And the hardest part about Restorative Yoga is finding where everything needs to go so you can be comfortable and once you're there its Haaah! So, slowly lay back and for me, I need to move this down a little more so it's underneath my knees and I actually do need a pillow. If you don't have a pillow that works, then you can always grab other towels. So you just want to find that nice support, this pillow maybe. You want to put that support underneath the neck. Actually this pillow is a little too high. Take a towel and roll the towel and place it underneath your neck. And then you can roll another towel for underneath your head. And just find the small in your neck to put the towel underneath. So everything should be open. Then once you find your comfortable position, and everything's relax because the most important part of Restorative is, is you want to be able to relax and have everything support you including the earth. Then place the eye pillow over your eyes and let everything go. And that's Basic Relaxation Pose.
