Choosing Flowers for a Floral Centerpiece

Hi! This is Diana for expertvillage.com. Today we’re making a centerpiece for your dinner table or a party table. I’d like to show you the different kinds of flowers that I’m going to use today. First of all, I’ve chosen this blue iris. Make sure when you buy your iris that it’s open slightly. If they’re completely closed, there’s a chance that they will not open. You want to consider when you’re going to be using the centerpiece. If you’re using it that day that you’re making it, you want to get the irises open as possible. Otherwise, they take about a day to fully open. I’m also using some orange mini carnations. These last a long time and come in tons of different colors. I’m using some yellow daisies; these are long lasting and come in different colors. I’m also going to be using some baby’s breath to fill out the arrangement.
