Things to Keep in Mind Renting a Tuxedo

Now that we've gone over all of our measurements, I just want to take you into a little bit of things to think about section. Let?s say you are renting a tuxedo. You're going to need a couple of extra measurements. That might be a cummerbund or a bow tie. The bow ties are usually adjustable, so don't worry about those. You have your neck measurement that you got for your shirt and you can also apply that to the bow tie. But there's very wide, there's a very wide lenience with the neck because it's an adjustable bow tie most of the time. Also cummerbunds are adjustable, but they're broken down into two sizes. Either you're standard or you're jumbo. If you're standard, your waist is going to be twenty-seven through fifty inches and we've measured our waist, so apply that to the cummerbund. If you're jumbo, it's going to be fifty inches to sixty inches. If you're above sixty inches, they might not have a cummerbund for you. You might have to figure something out. So with that said, that's bow ties and cummerbunds. And then also shoes. Sometimes places have European shoe sizes, so check in with the sizes. You know your shoe as a American size, but it's going to translate into a European size if they rent shoes that are European sizes. And then finally, just a note of caution, these measurements that you're going to take on yourself, make sure before you start cutting fabric and start making a suit, that you've double checked the measurements. Get somebody else, if you've measured them yourself, take them to the tailor, tell the tailor that you've measured them yourself and see if the tailor wants to remeasure you or whatever. But definitely as a little precautionary note, always double check your measurements. And that's that.
