Hi there, I am Tracy Goodwin, and I'm the red sweater lady and today we're going to be talking about how to improve oral communication across cultures, and what I'm talking about is basically conversations with people who are not native speakers of English, or who are not American. Maybe English is their first language, but they come from a completely different culture that speaks English like Ireland, or England, or anywhere in the world. The reason that this is so important is because the world we live in today is so multi-cultural, and you're going to be having encounters with people from other countries, maybe as your college professors, maybe as your teachers, perhaps students that you go to school with, and certainly on many, many levels in many, many business organizations, as well as just in general life -going shopping, going to stores, driving in traffic. We have become a multi-cultural world and it's difficult sometimes to communicate with other people, and today I'm going to give you some really great tips that will hopefully broaden you as a communicator, especially across cultures.
