Hi! My name is Glen and I want to talk a little bit about playing soccer in college. There are 3 divisions in NCAA. There is Division 3, Division 2 and Division 1. Usually the larger scholarship schools are Division 1. Division 2 also offers scholarships and Division 3 is a non-scholarship academically oriented program. All 3 divisions are equally competitive however. If you as a soccer player wants to try and get into college, you need to be proactive. You need to go watch a few colleges play in your area, need to contact coaches and you also need to try to get on a team that will take you to college coaches classics. Usually the best time to get seen is your sophomore, junior and senior year when coaches are out making the circuit, watching teams play and trying to make recruits to play on their teams. Playing soccer in college can be very rewarding. You have to be able to manage your time effectively but it can give you some life long memories.
