Now when using your samples, once you have your timing enhanced or you've been able to get a midi groove template from your sample and you're able to quantize now, now what you want to do is you want to lay down tracks and you want to quantize them according to how you want them to sound. Now when you're laying down tracks, you start with a kick and then you go to your snare and your hi hats or whatever, each time you lay something down, you kind of want to lay them down in mono, separately, right, over your stereo sample, right? After you have that all set, you want to go in each time and you want to quantize each one, one at a time. You want to make sure that you record onto here, right, and you choose your quantize. Whether it be with swing, 16 swing, A, or a 1/16th note -this is a straight quantize- or you can use midi groove templates that you create. You remember you can make your midi groove templates within the options, the groove templates? You can also just use any of the ones that are on Logic, as well as not quantizing at all. There's a whole bunch of different options as far as quantizing within Logic, and what you can do is go ahead and make your drums. Sometimes certain drums will be a little bit off and things might not be perfect, well you can also just go in and manually fix them to where you want them to be.
