When you buy a new car, the manufacturer insists that the dealer goes and puts the vehicle through what they call a pre-delivery inspection. What it does is it checks the pressure of the tires, make sure that all the features work properly, all the options that it was supposed to be built with are there, all the fluid levels are all topped off and everything is in working order by the manufacturer’s specifications. Again, it is more important when it comes to inspections with the used vehicles because obviously they have been out in the driving conditions a little bit longer. Of course, those are safety certificates that are legislative by the local government and they all have different standards but they are all very stringent to make sure that you get the most safest vehicle that has been well-maintained and that when you do decide to buy a vehicle, you are not going to get something that surprises you later on. Basically depending on where you are located, it could anywhere from a 20 to 129 point inspection on the vehicle and they check all the major wear and parts and that is just to make sure for instance the tires, the brakes, any of the bulbs, those are things that are very important when they do the inspections and they all have to pass within tolerances that are set by the local governments. It is more important with used vehicles but new cars also get inspected as well as part of the preparation for when the vehicle gets dropped off the dealership but you want to make sure that you get the safety certificate; if you are dealing with a private individual as well. Depending on where you are, someone may also inquire what they call as a mission test and if they do that, make sure that comes with the vehicle as well. It is important in some cases to even get license but it is always good to have that so you know that the vehicle is in the best condition that it could possibly be in.
