News Set Profanity

Now in this segment we're going to learn what to do if an anchor or co-anchor or a sportscaster is talking inappropriately on the floor. Now during a live newscast obviously you never know what's going to go on 'cause it is live, that's why we call it live broadcast. Live TV is one of the more unpredictable things in this world. Things go wrong, buttons extendly get pushed, things like that. Now an anchor's job is usually to listen to the floor director and of course keep their mouth quiet when they're not supposed to be talking, you know other things like that. But there are some anchors out there, sportscasters, weather casters, reporters, anyone like that, that do kind of a pouty mouth, I mean we've all seen the clips on the internet, we've heard about it, things like that, now, even during the commercial break, things can happen to where something stops suddenly, something breaks and you have to come back out of the studio. Now obviously you don't want your anchors sitting here causing up a storm, that's obviously unprofessional and a very, very vital situation. Easily, buttons get pushed like I said earlier, someone can accidentally hit a button, turn the microphone on and we can catch an anchor saying a bad word. Like I said, we've all seen in the internet, people do get fired over it and it is their responsibility to make sure they're not saying these stuff, but least also kind of nice to you know, give them a courteous courtesy, you know, be quiet, stop saying that, things like that, and if it does keep happening, of course obviously, you going to want to talk to your director first and then if it's still happening after that, then you kind of want to go the manager. And also, when you're telling them, "you ought to be quiet and that", you don't swear or anything, and you want to make sure that your microphone and your headset is turn on, that way your director can hear it, never one else it's plug into the intercom system can hear it, so that way you do have some backups in you that "yes you did", say, you know, tell them to stop swearing, shape up basically, that way you know, you do have a little back up so in case they're saying that "no you didn't, no you didn't", you know, you do have people on your side.
