Understanding Color Tags & Ejecting Drives on a Mac

Hey alright Tony from expertvillage.com I'm going to now show you as you could see here by my Macintosh hard drive and my external devices here which have shown up quiet nicely thank you very much for showing up. Very kind of you. You could see that it says Macintosh hard drive and it is green. This is are call tags and you could tag your folders, anything that is on your desk top a different color so that you could separate, and organize and kind of locate them a little easier. It is very simple to change the color. You just got to if you have two button mouse you right click or with me I only have a one button hold the control key on the control key on the keyboard and click on the mouse once and it would bring out the drop down menu. I will select a label it says right here color label. I'm going to go with a nice blue. No you know what lets do purple. I want to go with purple and boom there it is. You could see that it changed that color from what it was before green to purple. That is pretty much how you could kind of you know you just select a name and then you control click it, and then you could select the color of the tag and whatever you like that you have to chose from. Another thing that is cool is before you remove any of your hard drive or turn them off, any of your external devices, your ipod, will talk about the ipod later but, anything that you got to remove is you are going to eject it from the desk top. From the operating system. It is pretty simple again if you have two button mouse you right click or you control click for me and you just simple eject it. Once you eject it from the desk top, from the computer you could turn that device off, unplug it and then it is safely remove from your operating system. From your computer so that you know it would make sure that all of your files would be safe.
